I have made these. Rounded the ends of the tape measure and tape (painters tape). Also put a thin piece of batting on the ends.
Duck taped the end of the tape that is still attached to the original retractable tape measure.........let go and its gone. LOL
Machine quilted the bag and then did a double layer binding to run the tape measure into. Makes a great change purse.
