You can also do a brick quilt by cutting your strips in 3 1/2" by 7 1/2" blocks. Sew together alternating strips so they look like a brick wall. Add a 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" block on the ends of alternationg rows so the bricks don't they don't stack one on top of the other. I also liked the idea of a pin wheel quilt. You could use a tiny polka dot for they background.
