A cooler is great if you have no humidity. When we lived in NM it was dry and that cooler almost frooze us out. Now in N. TX and my bill was $189.00 for 2,000 sq ft. I did replace my air conditioner last year, and I run my ceiling fans on low all the time, sure makes a difference. I too am total electric.
