You have the right book. I see the one that you are talking about. The one I made is on page 14. I did not make it with fabric like the one shown. It take two different fabrics for each blade. I used the small end of the tie. I cut it off and put the pattern template-A on page 17 on the tie and used the rotary cutter to cut around it. It take six ties for each square.
