These look nice but are they strickly for the purpose of being a potholder or can you put them under a dish in the microwave? Guess I'm asking a stupid question, but I don't get it. someone said they are not safe to use in the microwave.

I ended up making three different sizes. Large (casserole dish size)
Medium (large bowl) and small (for a cereal sz. bowl)
These are great for heating up that bowl of soup or chili or just about anything you can fit into a bowl and RE-HEAT in the microwave. You pick the whole thing up out of the microwave: bowl and all,l and place it on the table and "dig in". The nice thing about them is you do not need a pot holder and they are much easier to handle, and (of course) "they are washable".
