If your gut is telling you that you need to have a project that can be finished so you can show it off, and doing something with no completion date in sight feels daunting, then follow your instincts. They will lead you in the right direction. Much better that you do something small, and learn to love quilting, than that you become so frustrated with the process that an unfinished quilt sits unfinished because you gave up on it. Make what you want to make, and only what you want to make, and not what your friend wants to talk you in to making, and that's the first step towards success in quilting. I agree. I have had so many big projects sitting unfinished, just because I lost interest. BUT, I've finished small projects and was so happy with my results! A wall hanging, or table runner, or the new to me, bed runners might be right up your alley! Oh, and welcome from Winston, Oregon!
