I recently got one of the Olfa rotating cutting mats. For weeks I was crawling on the floor under my sewing table (which isn't easy at my age) checking the carpet looking for the place my cat had used as the litter box! It wasn't until I moved the cutting next to my machine while I was making crumb blocks that I found the source of the oder!!!! I apologized to the cat. It's still smelling...but not as badly. I did make the mistake of leaving a piece of fabric on the mat for a couple of days...now it smells! I'll be trying all these great suggestions to elimate that smell before I continue trimming blocks on it!
