The new irons are considered a throw-away appliance, actually what isn't these days.....I have tried cheap, expensive, fancy, plain...they all don't last more than 1-2 yrs. Now, I just go to Walmart, grab the one in the mid price range and off I go. I do use distilled water in the tank though....we have a water softener in the house, but I still do that.
