I have a diamond thimble, I ordered a second one "just in case" this is were I got it. www.beehappyquilting.com/products/quilting.../diamond-thimble I think this is the best one I have found, and it has lasted me a really long time and is still in very good shape, I am so pleased with it, but I am going to be on the look-out for a protect and grip thimble, looks like a good one.
