I agree! Lay it out the way you want it and look @ it several times. It may look chopped off and you need to know before you sew. The top and bottom borders do not have to be the same width as the sides. I would do a 1 1/2" blue inner border all the way around and then floral 9 or 10" sides and maybe 5" top and bottom. You can always fold over the top a little to fit! Just my 2 cents!

Yes, you can do that. Your quilt, your rules.
Audition the borders you want (pin them in place), step back and take a look.
Walk away. Go shopping. Go to work. When you return take another look.
No rush. Think about it until you're happy.

Quilt looks beautiful.
