It does not give you all the information that was in the tables. For instance, the certificate tells me that my serial # (for my FW) was issued in 1950, but doesn't tell me that it's a model 221-1, made at the Elizabethport Plant, in Elizabeth NJ. Often when someone is looking up a serial number it's to find out the model number, and Singer doesn't provide that on the certificate.
Thanks Dunster. That is what I was wondering. This decision of theirs is not customer friendly but maybe they don't care. Wish I had printed out the stuff relating to my machines, even if I didn't print the entire database which I heard some were doing.
