I caught my breath when you called your French toile fabric ugly. Granted, that's a pretty bold color for the ground; normally it's white. But you've certainly created something beautiful out of your piece.
I've had an ongoing love affair with toile fabric for many years. Used it on walls in my old home in the foyer (black on white); green on white in my living room; and since I've moved, I have blue on white in my bedroom. Love it!
