I'd go with the rest of them. Use dark sash and put it together. If you want to add some more punch I have two ideas. First, after it's pieced together (or before) add some applique. There was a quilt in this months McCalls Quilting magazine that had a basic quilt with butterfly appliques done in beautiful batiks all over it and it was stunning. If it was for a little boy you could do like a sheriffs star and cowboy boots and maybe spurs. You get the idea.

The other idea is to add embroidered designs or decorative stitches. Or some contrasting quilting stitches.

JMHO. I like the stars. That was our first star in this year star BOM.
