Tone on Tone does not photograph well.. White on White around Dolly. camera always shines this out.
Another idea...use the same patterns and make her a cloth-paper doll set...the doll is only finished on the front side...velcro soft side on doll...one piece with work if dresses are kinda stiff...have one that is very old and I love it.
