I have a Singer Quantum XL5000 and last week I took it to a repair shop for a tune-up, was told the "circuit board" went out on it and it would cost $850.00 to replace the board and install. I paid $2500.00 for it new about 10 yrs. ago but only really started using it since I retired 3 yrs. ago. My questions are: would you invest the money in getting it repaired? And if not, what machine would you suggest I buy to quilt, sew and embroidery on? Of course the repair shop wants me to buy one of theirs but I am going to the "experts" for your opinions.
