I'm stopping with the needle down, pivoting the quilt, and then start sewing again....I've tried everything and it keeps doing this.
Wait till the needle starts it's way back up...then it'll have completed the stitch. If you do it on the way down the stitch is not complete.

LEATHEFLEA just barely bring the needle up but not out of the fabric...stop...lift presser bar, turn fabric, lower presser bar, and start sewing....like RedGarnet said - making sure you're turning the hand wheel (if you use one) in the right direction (usually towards you).

Practice on scrap fabric till you get it right - good luck
