I made a large rail fence quilt and my mistake was putting thick batting in it. It was too bulky to quilt on my machine so I tied it which I almost never do. First time my son threw it in the washer, the quilt and the machine got in a big fight an now I need to go back and do a better job of tying and not let him wash it. Other than that, it turned out great!
