I had gone out with my broom and tried to knock or brush some off (22 trees), took be about 1-1/2 hour. (Unfortunately, DH had falled on Friday and has a badly sprained ankle. He is still hobbling.) I was soaked to the skin, could actually wring my gloves, my jeans soaked from jacket down. We were with power for five hours (no football, no quilting, no hot tea). We got about 8".

The bad thing about the weight of the snow, is that the trees have not dropped their leaves. Many of our farmers have corn standing waiting for the kernels to dry enough to be harvested (for animal feed). If taken in too soon they will mold. Today we are melting.
Same story here in Western Pennsylvania, Suz - with one exception. We only got a couple of inches so the trees are OK although many of them bent pretty badly. Corn fields are still up and the deer are having a field day!
