Our local electric company sends out a newsletter once a month and they discussed this type of heater and basically they said it was a waste of money - it burns the same amount of electricity and puts out the same amount of heat as the $40 heaters from WalMart or your local hardware store.
We have 2 EdenPure heaters. One we use in the basement if it gets really cold, and the other is used upstairs when our kids are home. I don't recall the actual price, but they are worth the price. We didn't notice any great jump in our electric bill...It remained steady, if anything.
