It's not Thanksgiving without green bean casserole!

I think it might even be illegal.
I've made it with frozen French cut beans and it works out fine - I just have to cook it longer than with canned green beans. (I think the object is to remove any trace of bright healthy green and reduce the beans to a khaki colored mush - no healthy stuff allowed.

If I'm making it on a day which isn't Thanksgiving (a day on which you should never tinker around with the recipes for old family favorites! LOL!) I add chopped cooked bacon.
