I opened this expecting to express sympathy for the loss of someone's pet duck. You got me, and it was a good one!

The thing is, some dogs can detect things like cancer and high blood sugar levels (for diabetics). Having them sniff is a lot less costly and invasive than the usualt testing. Sorry, I know I'm off on a tangent here.
there are even dogs now that are being trained to be seizure dogs. they can tell in advance when their owner will have a seizure and warn them, so the affected person can sit/lay down instead of falling down.
