For a heart I would think that after looking at the wreath, put the heart colors in the order of a heart, like the wreath was in the order of a wreath. A heart might not be quite as symetrical because you usually have a heart that is smooth around the edges. Where as the wreath is not. But make sure if you get one figured out you post it here. I would love to see it. I was going to make hearts out of log cabin, now you have me thinking on trying this.
One thing I have found when making Twister patterns that small is to press all of the seams open. It will not only help with the bulk but it also helps prevent you from getting too frustrated while working on it. (I do a lot of Twister quilts and have designs for about 13 different ones for seasons, months, and holidays that are in the process of being copywritten and will be out soon.)
