Elanor's first book was a log cabin block, and yes, you can make that one in a day, all day, from start to finish. Not all of her quilt patterns can be done that fast, but her methods are usually a lot faster than doing things the traditional way.
I think Eleanor Burns is doing beginning quilters a real disserve by having called her company "Quilt in a Day". I have a friend who got the log cabin book, and just couldn't figure out what was wrong with her, because it was taking so long. I told her that was just the name of the company - don't expect to make a quilt in a day! Certainly not as a beginner!
