my oldest son was a smoker and also did not know how much work went into a quilt. I had made him a simple quilt made from the bell bottoms he and siblings wore in the 70's. Needless to say he burned holes in it. I took it and said I would fix it when he quit smoking. He did, I did and he proudly keeps it on his bed now. Could only put random patches over the holes, but we call it his Hobo quilt....
