Red face Sarah from Houston

Hi! I'm a lifelong craftaholic! I love making things and have tried just about every craft out there. I learned to sew at a young age (I'm 31), but I mainly made apparel. I started quilting a few years ago once I saw all the new fabrics coming out that suited me style. I like working in solids the best, but I don't have many in my stash at the moment. I also knit, crochet, embroider, cross-stitch, paint, draw, sculpt, make jewelry, work in digital media, and am eventually going to combine all of that into one monstrous project. I want to learn needle-tatting next. When I see something I haven't tried before, I never think "That looks hard", I think "I bet I can figure out how to do that!"- that's my general attitude and approach to life, too.

Anyway, this looks like a great, active community that likes to jump in and help each other out. I hope I can add to that.

So... anyone in Houston or the surrounding area have any tips on a good LQS? I go to Quiltworks (lovely batiks selection and lots of more traditional fabrics) on 290 near Cypress (Spencer Road, I think), but I'm looking for other places to try, since I'm buying more and more fabric online. I'm drawn more to modern style, and a great solids selection would be awesome. Also don't mind shops farther away that might be good for a day trip. Thanks!
