Thanks for you comments re my pieces and I am going to play with some of your suggestions re flattening the over stuffed pieces. And duh! i had never thought to settle down with some beads etc. That would be perfect to add some more texture and depth! I will go to work on that idea..........

That yellow black is awesome. So much movement and yet a perverse sort of continuity too. I enjoyed your fabric choices. People rarely use yellow so it is good to see a lively inventive block that really works. It seems to draw a person right into the vortex but with your choice of pattern it is a controlled manner. Well done with the time you spent playing and creating.
It looks like that was machine appliqued? i will run out an shoot myself if you tell me it was pieced........
