She looks almost exactly like our Beagle, Maggie. We got her almost 2 years ago from the pound. We knew she was the one when she climbed up into my husbands lap within the first few minutes of meeting her. It took a long time to get used to her signals to go out, as she is not very vocal at all 9she rarely barks, unless it's at another dog). We had many messes to clean up until she and we "got it'. We keep her on a run or leash when outside at all times (can't afford a fence), otherwise she finds a scent and runs with it. As with our previous Beagle, she has gotten to the point where she will come home on her own. And yes, she is very food motivated. She is the most loveable and sweet dog, and we all love her. Our first Beagle, Pfarfel, loved to run up to the farm when he managed to get away and gorge himself on interesting things that dogs will eat, then come home looking like he ate a basket ball.
