I have taken a cooling rack ... the kind with the small square like openings ... used a pencile and pushed my fabric through all the holes. Then I placed a piece of fuseable on the flat side and ironed it on. It made a great textured piece of fabric which I the used to make a purse. Useing this method, it wouldn't be too expensive to use it for or in a quilt. Great for art quilts too.
