The first BIG quilt I made was for my daughter. Figured if I was going to all the $$ and time to make it for her, she needed to pick the colors. After all, it was going to
her house, not mine. So I had her send me paint chips in the colors she wanted. (we live 5 hours from each other). Then, after consulting with her, I picked the fabric. Wouldn't have been my first choice(s) of colors. Still, I throughly enjoyed making it. The colors grew on me mainly because I knew she was going to be happy. Sure enough.. she was! Guess for me, quilting gifts is about making the other person happy.
Maybe you'll grow to like it as you go along. Stranger things have happened!!
