depends on what type of piecing I am doing. for normal piecing, I am usually around a 2.4 on a Bernina, for paper piecing I shorten the stitch considerably, and for long strip piecing I lengthen the stitch. for long arm quilting, that depends also on what type of design look I want, but that usually ranges between 9 and 11.
