Oh Bev, that is wonderful that your son is such a hard worker. Now a days, kids just don't want to work, they all just sit around with their cell phones reading their text messages. I think I was a strict mother too. When I married my second husband he had four kids, and I had two. They had chores every day, which rotated weekly. They all learned how to clean everything. I checked each day when I came home from work, and their chores had better be done!
