I use black electrical tape. I can use one strip over and over. When I longarm quilts that pucker, I stretch the tape a bit and lay it down on the quilt and it gently gathers the fabric for me and I can easily stitch. If I stitch over it, it pulls apart easily to remove. I also use it to hold up patterns on my big window for drawing applique. It does not stick to the paper (unless you leave it up for months and then I just tap a warm iron on it to release the glues). I prefer it over blue tape.
