I also live in the country, UPS man comes up our 500 ft driveway. Mailbox is by the street, but anything insured or that needs a signature, I have to go to the PO to get it.
If you are having packages from a business stolen out of your mailbox, file a claim and make them send a replacement. If they have to do that often enough, maybe they will start shipping with better methods.
