Thanks for your very quick reply. I am really wanting to get started since I haven't quilted in quite a while. I have been doing other projects and my WIPs are calling to me louder every day. I have a Pfaff 1171. I bought it in 1997. It is a wonderful machine I will never get rid of and it has lots of stitches. I will check the manual to see which ones I can use besides my zigzag stitch. Your explanation will be easy to follow. Thanks, again.
