Confession: Those perfect ovals are done with a groovy board. The feathers are all free motion. A groovy board is used on the back side of a longarm. A stylus is put into a groove and you move the machine and the machine is guided by the groove. It is just a matter of lining it all up and thinking up designs. There wasn't room for 3 full ovals so I did partials on the end..
