I like the original way in which you have arranged the blocks. That arrangement is lovely and looks fine to me. It appears that changing the blocks is going to involve a lot of ripping and resewing. If that is the look you prefer then go for it but honestly, I can see nothing wrong with your original blocks. It is looking good from where I am sitting! Best wishes.
