Default My original Singer 99K, found and cleaned up!

Months ago I posted that I'd discovered my original (to me) Made in Scotland Singer 99K stored in a garage. Dirty, rusty, and, I discovered, damaged. This machine is not only a jewel, it has sentimental value. I bought it used when I was 19, perfected my sewing on it, and used it for years until my husband surprised me with a Singer Golden Touch 'n Sew, which I still use. Following Joe Miller's gracious advice and instructions, I removed the rust as well as I could, ordered a few replacement parts, and then discovered the foot control was broken inside. I used ceramic glue to glue the porcelain connector and lo and behold, it works! This little machine still sews like a dream and although I don't use it every day, I'm so glad to have found it and to have it back in working order (I felt so guilty at finding it in the shape it was in, having forgotten I'd
stored it in that out of the way garage). It's cleaner now than the photo shows!
