Great job! There's nothing wrong with guys sewing! It IS a machine, and you know, we just make do with what we have. It's not about how you get the job done, but that you're happy doing the job, and with the final result.

I did something similar with a table we'd bought at a garage sale. I got lucky with it's top already being a nice slick Formica surface, though, and it had two curved edges at the front, so I turned those curves to the wall and they're perfect for cords to drop through. I also found a set of drawers that fits perfectly on one side beneath the table at another garage sale for $2, and two book shelves for a few dollars each that hold all my fabrics. (I also buy MOST of my fabrics at garage and estate sales for pennies on the dollar and more often than not, I get top quality fabrics! )
