I think that is too high. My husband, who knows nothing about machines, bought one for $450 back in the days when prices were high, and that was high then. The highest I've paid was $360, and that for a pristine machine with perfect decals and not a scratch on it; in other words, a collector's machine. These days, I think you can get a Featherweight for $200-$300, and that is one with good decals and in nice shape.
