Bri, machine quilting isn't cheating. I would recommend you take a class on machine quilting. Failing that, I'd find a book on machine quilting and read it before you quilt your top. Read the book and do the practice exercises in it. I think then you would be prepared to quilt you quilt.

You don't need a longarm. You should be able to quilt it on your machine.
