My charity quilts go to the local homeless shelter. Also I make some for the humane society. You would be surprised at how badly they need quilts. Also teen sizes are needed for the homeless (like twin size.)
If you would like to find a homeless shelter in your area you could probably go on line. When I donate I just drop them off. There is always someone there.
The size for the humane society are: 12 x 12 in. for cats and small animals, 24 x 24 in for med size dogs and animals and for large dogs and animals is 36 x 36 in. Just keep in mind that animals don't care what the fabric looks like, they are just so happy to be laying on something cozy in their cages. I alway bring a big bag of dog food when I drop them off. Shelters alway need that.
