Yes, we have used a jelly roll for a Bargello, but had to add a few extra strips as they call for so many colors. My friend and I did two different colors quilts and they both turned out great. We got a free pattern online called "My Lil Bargello" (only used 14 different colors instead of 21 or more like some call for) I am sorry I do not remember who's pattern is was, but it started as a youtube video.
