I have the 4.0 and love it--it is my 4th Pfaff, starting back in the late 70's. I bought my first one when I lived in Germany. The first generation 4.0 apparently had a lot of problems, but mine is a newer one and works beautifully. They have released two new models, the 4.2 and the Performance 5.0. The reports on those, especially the 5.0, are really good. I love my 4.0, though, and have no intentions of trading it in for a new one.
