I've made many scrappy quilts, and how to store scraps has always been a question without an answer. I don't cut mine into preselected sizes because I never know how large the scraps have to be before I decide on a quilt pattern. I have always stored mine by color -- plastic bags of blues, greens, etc. I can select the degree of brightness I want once I dump a bag and start to finger the scraps. Scrap quilts are great fun.
