Do you know an electrician who could change it for you? Mine had a little
problem because I was standing my iron up until the cord got damaged.
DH opened it and shortened it slightly just to remove the part that was
damaged. It's a bit tricky to do it and you would need crimp-on terminals
and a crimper.

Edit: You might want to buy an extension cord (12 amp) and chop
one end off. You will still need the crimp-on terminals to attach it
to your iron.
