I don't think you can expect much of a machine that costs $79. I have one of the computerized Brothers that I too bought from Walmart, in fact I have two. I liked the first one so well that I bought another. I have had the first one for over 10 years and the 2nd one for around 7 years. As far as not getting parts, my machine repairman seems to have no trouble. Of course the dealers won't work on them, they want you to purchase their machines.

I bought the cheapest Brother they had and it did a decent job of sewing and buttonholes. No tension problems or anything else. This machine is great for sewing once in a while, but will not hold up to long term sewing. If it breaks there will be no way to have it repaired and parts will not be available. Sewing machine dealers do not work on these types of machines even though they have the Brother or Bernette name they are not the same as the ones you would buy from a dealer. I used to work at a sewing machine store and the parts for these machines are not available. Most brands of sewing machine dealers have a lower priced entry kevel model that is affordable. These will be warranted and you can get service if there is an issue.
