I have never purchased from either of those sites you mentioned. I am actually feeling a bit foolish because I am not sure that I even understand what the problem is.
Maybe I just don't have as much experience as the others. I have purchased fabric from Amazon and Fabric.com.. I was very pleased with everything that I purchased from both of them
