I had a gifted son, and found it was simple enough to simply
ASK him what he wanted. At age 5 he wanted a quilt embroidered
with his favorite things. He wanted, first of all, his dog, a Doberman,
his tennis racket, a big Butterfly that he had started his collection with
his Dad, and other favorite things. And, yes, I did finally finish that
darned quilt, right after he got out of the Navy!!
