I usually give all my machines a good cleaning/oiling when I don't feel like sewing. Then I am usually in the mood for a small project like place mats or runner just to make sure everyone is sewing well again after the cleaning.
This always seems to help me too. I find a quilting show or youtube videos get me in the mood.
