Default Hello from Northern California

hello all,
just happened to tripped by your website when i was googling something about antique singer sewing machine. i am from northern california (san francisco) and have been a pure hobbyist.

i love painting, woodworking, handyman around the house, a poet, model car making, a photographer since 1971 (as a hobby) and sewing. i have been sewing since i was 12 years old. using my mom's old singer sewing machine, i earned quite a lot of money as a teenager sewing sports uniforms (basketball and volleyball) for all my friends. maybe not a lot but at that time, for me it's quite a lot (ha ha ha).

anyway let me introduce you to all my sewing 'friends' - i have a singer 16-188, a singer 99 (aluminum), a 201-2 (potted motor) and a featherweight 221-1 (which i intend to give to my daughter as soon as she starts sewing). my wife has a husqvarna freesia and she love it. i used it but not really in awed compare to all my singers. i hope to learn a lot from the members here as i consider myself a newbie in quilting and serious sewing. hopefully i can impart some of my knowledge too. thanks a lot.
